The general objective of the project is to test the technical and commercial viability o composting and also to demonstrate models/process of decentralized composting that may be followed in Khulna and elsewhere in Bangladesh. The project is supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Water and Sanitation Program (WSP)-South Asia. The scope of this short consultancy is to:

• Assist a local NGO and Khulna City Corporation in design and installation of a pilot barrel type composting unit in Khulna
• Assist in design and supervision of a composting plant in Khulna
• Assist a local NGO in exploring the market for compost and preparing marketing strategy
• Assist a local NGO in trail production of composting through vermin-culture
