Waste Concern
was founded in 1995 with the motto “ Waste is a Resource”. Later
Waste Concern Group was formed
to achieve a common vision to contribute to waste recycling,
environmental improvement, renewable energy, poverty reduction
through job creation and sustainable development.
Waste Concern Group is a Social
Business Enterprise (SBE) comprising both “For Profit” and “Not-for
Profit” enterprises. Waste Concern Group
has been founded by A.H.Md. Maqsood Sinha, a professional
architect-urban planner and Iftekhar Enayetullah, a civil
engineer-urban planner.
Waste Concern
Group is working with government agencies, private
sector, international agencies and different communities to reach
its mission as widely as possible.

Waste Concern: It is a “Non for Profit” research and
development arm of Waste Concern Group focusing on pilot projects on
all types of waste and cleaner energy projects (especially solar and
bio energy projects).
Waste Concern Consultants:
It is a “For Profit” consulting arm of Waste Concern Group. It
provides consultancy and advisory services to low and middle-income
countries on waste management (municipal/hazardous/industrial/human
excreta), cleaner energy, industrial pollution control, sustainable
human settlement planning, energy efficiency, climate change and
Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) as well as environmental
management.
Waste Concern Baraka Agro Products Ltd:
It is a “For Profit” company under
the group promoting organic farming, eco-friendly agriculture as
well as organic agro products.
WWR Bio
Fertilizer Bangladesh Ltd.: It is a “For Profit” joint
venture company of Waste Concern and World Wide Recycling BV of the
Netherlands. It is working as an investor and operator for organic
waste recycling projects through composting. Its working principle
is based on public-private partnership model and carbon financing.
Matuail Power
Ltd. It is a “For Profit” joint venture company of Waste
Concern and World Wide Recycling BV of the Netherlands. It is
working as an investor and operator for waste to energy projects
using no-burn technology such as biogas generation, landfill gas
collection and electricity generation. Its working principle is
based on public-private partnership model and carbon financing.
