MOU signed between American International School Dhaka and Waste Concern

Waste Concern and American International School Dhaka (AISD) signed an MOU on May 4. 2008 regarding a project entitled Organic Waste Management through Composting at AIS/D. American International School Dhaka at Baridhara is promoting 3R at their campus and installing an in house compost plant for effective organic waste management as part of their commitment to become an environment friendly institution. Waste Concern, as their corporate social responsibility, is performing pro bono service by providing required technical assistance to the school to achieve their goal. Waste Concern?s activities under this project include; i) Conducting a Waste Audit ii) Detail architectural and engineering design drawing for the compost plant. iii) Construction supervision. iv) Awareness training for the AISD staff and students for successful operation of the plant. v) Hands on training for the in house plant operators. vi) Monitor green house gas emission reduction through composting at AISD. Waste Concern is keen to disseminate knowledge among school children about saving our environment through waste management and already done several presentations at different schools of Dhaka to make children aware at an early age. Future activities include Energy Audit at AISD to make it a Carbon Neutral Institution.
